| Pierce County's second largest city is the home of the
Western Washington Fair, largest in the state and ranked among the top 10 leading fairs in
the country. The fair is the big end-of-summer event in this part of the Northwest and
features traditional agricultural exhibits, hobbies and crafts, a midway, dozens of
restaurants and specialty food vendors, and headliner entertainment. The annual Daffodil
Festival celebrates the colorful commercial bulb fields in this part of the country. The
Puyallup Valley is noted for it's abundance of vegetables, berries and flowers, having
many truck farms and commercial growers. Visitors can pick their own at many farms or
visit the Farmers Market on Saturdays from spring through fall. |
