The Lincoln Business  District has changed somewhat over the past decade. What used to be a "sleepy down home" kind of neighborhood shopping district for the residents on the hill to the south and west of downtown Tacoma, has slowly been evolving into a multicultural community consisting of the long time residents and many new friends and neighbors from Vietnam, Cambodia and other Asian countries along with Afro American and Latino peoples settling in the area as well.
